TO SUFFER OR NOT. YOUR CHOICE.

Introductory Teachings on Tibetan Buddhism

H.H. 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje, Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism

4 NOBLE TRUTHS

Suffering, both mental and physical, exists.

The origins, or causes, of all suffering are thoroughly known in Buddhism.

But you do not have to suffer. In addition to not having to live with mental suffering, bodily suffering, even during mortal illness, can be transcended.

There is a path that brings about cessation of all suffering. The path consists of right view, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and meditative stabilization (samadhi.)

Impermanance
The world and all its inhabitants are impermanent.
In particular, the life of each being is like a water bubble.
It is uncertain when I will die and become a corpse.
As it is only the dharma that can help me at that time, I must practice now with diligence.

Tibetan Buddhism has an approach to death. The essence is that death does not have to be feared. It is the optimal practice opportunity.
