(How about if) All sangha members agree to roll over your current auto to one that gets a minimum 32-35 mpg in the city at next new / new-used car opportunity.
There are autos out there now available in every income level that do this.

Definitely! That’s my plan. (Actually I’m aiming for 50 mpg min.) Regular maintenance also helps your current car get better gas mileage, as well as driving at steady speeds. And, as demonstrated on the pop semi-scientific show MythBusters, you’ll get better gas mileage using your air conditioner rather than rolling your windows down, and your pickup will get better gas mileage with the tailgate UP (not down).
